Atlassian Connector (Jira & Confluence)
Connect Atlassian to ChatPRD for access to Jira issues and Confluence pages in chat.
Atlassian Connector (Jira & Confluence)
The Atlassian MCP connector lets ChatPRD access your Jira issues and Confluence pages directly in chat. Use it to keep product work aligned with your Atlassian workspace, search for documentation, and manage issues.
Setup
- Go to Settings > Integrations.
- Scroll to "MCPs and Connectors" and click Atlassian.
- Authorize ChatPRD to access your Atlassian account via OAuth.
- Once connected, enable Atlassian in the Tool Selector (wrench icon) for any chat.
What You Can Do
With Jira:
- Search for issues, epics, and projects.
- Check sprint status and team workload.
- Create or update Jira issues from product discussions or PRD breakdowns.
- Look up issue details including status, assignee, and priority.
With Confluence:
- Search for pages, specs, runbooks, and other documentation.
- Find existing content to reference when writing new documents.
- Pull context from Confluence into your ChatPRD conversations.
Example Prompts
- "What's in the current Jira sprint for the backend team?"
- "Create a Jira ticket for the API rate limiting feature."
- "Find the Confluence page about our deployment process."
- "Search Jira and Confluence for anything related to SSO."
Requirements
- A Pro, Team, or Enterprise plan.
- An Atlassian account with access to the Jira projects and Confluence spaces you want to query.
- Atlassian must be connected and toggled on in the Tool Selector for the current chat.
External Domain Allowlisting
If your Atlassian organization uses Rovo MCP server settings to control which external AI tools can connect, an admin may need to allowlist ChatPRD's domain before the integration will work. This is a security feature that lets Atlassian admins restrict which third-party AI tools and domains are permitted to access Jira, Confluence, and Compass via OAuth 2.1.
To configure domain allowlisting:
- Go to Atlassian Administration > Apps > AI settings > Rovo MCP server.
- Click Add domain and add ChatPRD's domain to the allowlist.
- Ensure that Allow Atlassian supported domains is enabled, or that ChatPRD's domain has been explicitly added.
If your organization also uses IP allowlisting, requests from ChatPRD must originate from an allowed IP address. Both domain and IP allowlist conditions must be met for the connection to succeed.
For full details on managing allowed domains, authentication settings, and IP allowlisting for MCP connections, see Control Atlassian Rovo MCP server settings.
